In collaboration with the National Institute for Scientific Research (INRS) in Quebec City, Tecosol is in the process of commercializing the Metox process, which makes it possible to treat soils and certain residual materials affected by mixed on-site contamination (heavy and organic metals). This restricts the transportation and burial of these soils, for which there are very few treatment solutions in Quebec.
Depending on the initial contamination, this physico-chemical procedure can be adapted to the problem at hand.
This process makes it possible to:
Traiter les métaux lourds sur le site
Éviter les frais et les GES reliés au transport
Contribuer au développement durable en minimisant l’enfouissement
Proposer une solution d’économie verte
Faire un choix responsable pour un prix compétitif
Contribuer à la réduction et/ou valorisation de déchets
The process was tested in a lab in collaboration with the INRS. In 2010, a green demonstration was held at the Valcartier military base to demonstrate the application of the process for on-site treatment. A technological showcase project was then carried out in 2015-2016 in collaboration with the City of Québec to confirm the application of the process in continuous mode on various types of contaminated soil problems. We aim to commercialize the process by 2017 and will be looking for potential partners for the full deployment of the process.
