Company

History

Tecosol is a Quebec company that offers various services in the field of contaminated soil and groundwater. Tecosol was founded in 1993 following the development of an innovative soil and groundwater treatment technology. This method, known as Soltec, is applied in situ, meaning it is applied directly to the soil without excavation. Soltec was developed in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada and Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec. The research and development projects were carried out on two industrial sites belonging to Ltée between 1995 and 1999.

Over the years, Tecosol has developed partnerships that have enabled the company to expand into the Quebec contaminated soil and environmental protection markets. In 2005, it partnered with Les Industries Fournier in Thetford Mines to invest in business, research and development activities. Namely, Fournier Industries manufactures mobile processing units for Tecosol. Since 2009, Tecosol has been working with the Institut National de Recherche Scientifique (INRS) to develop and eventually commercialize the Metox process. This innovative treatment process will make it possible to treat soil that has been contaminated by heavy metals directly on the affected site.

Mission

"At Tecosol, our mission is to meet the needs of our clientele by providing effective, responsive, cost-effective, and high-quality services while reducing the impact on the environment."
Pierre Dufresne, President

Tecosol relies on the efficiency of its technologies, its competitive prices and a qualified team to offer superior services. Considering the fundamental principles of sustainable development in its corporate strategy, Tecosol offers sustainable, effective and eco-friendly solutions.

Sustainable Development

Tecosol uses and develops sustainable and eco-friendly processing technologies. In fact, Tecosol encourages on-site treatments, conditions permitting. This reduces the need for excavation and restricts the transportation of soil to landfills, which is not sustainable in the long term. Relying on its research and development activities, Tecosol is currently involved in the development of a technology that aims to treat heavy metals (Metox). This will prevent the burial of several tons of soil polluted with metals, since there is practically no other treatment solution to date. Tecosol also limits its carbon footprint by reusing equipment whenever possible, by privileging electrical energy, limiting travel, and encouraging green actions on a daily basis.
